Ordering Recommendations

A screening tool to confirm a hematologic disorder, to establish or rule out a diagnosis, to detect an unsuspected hematologic disorder, or to monitor effects of radiation or chemotherapy.

These counts are used as clinical guides in the diagnosis or monitoring of many diseases.

Included in CBC and Hemogram testing.

  • Specimen is clotted
  • Quantity Not Sufficient for Analysis (QNS) – The minimum sample volume is 2mL in an EDTA vacutainer tube or 250 µL for a capillary puncture.
